2006 Summer Season News
This past Sunday, April 9, we hired Beth
Bryant’s replacement for the director of the Quabbin Community Band. Peter
Lewis was chosen for the position. Peter, as most of you know, has been
the Director of Bands at Quabbin Regional for the past 3 years. He has
been a music educator in Massachusetts for the past 10 years. The hiring
committee was impressed by his knowledge, musicianship, directing ability,
passion, directness, humor, and his easy way with people. It should be a
smooth transition from Beth to Peter, and we hope that you all will help
facilitate that transition. Beth will direct the first concerts in June
and then Peter will take over. Peter will direct the Hardwick Parade (May
28), and Julie, Jim and Steve will manage the Monday parade in Barre (May
29). We look forward to seeing you at our first rehearsal!

2006 Program Book Ad Campaign
| This year we have a new ad campaign
manager. The band would like to welcome Sandy Norton as the ad
campaign coordinator. While Sandy is not a member of the band, her
husband Paul and sons Dan and Mike have been playing in the band every
summer for years. She is asking for help from all the band members. Every
Ad that we have in our 2006 Program Book is a very important contribution
to the QCB. Please take the time to help. She will be at the first QCB practice this Monday night. Any help that you can give her with the Ads is greatly appreciated. The ad deadline this year is May 22. |
