Circle of Song |
Circle of Song is a multi-generational community chorus that sings a wide variety of music in four part harmony. Attractive to experienced singers who are good readers and looking for a challenge musically, it is also a teaching/learning chorus for those who want to become better readers where the talents and abilities of all members are utilized creatively. Learning tapes are made for those who need them. Instrumental accompaniment comes from within, so if you play something, we can use that also. Membership is $25/year.
Circle of Song sings from September through May, meeting weekly on Thursday evenings at Quabbin Regional High School in the Chorus Room from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. We have 2 major concerts per year at Christmas time and in May with other special concerts sprinkled throughout the year. The chorus sings a lot of classical, world music, American traditional, spirituals, and anything gorgeous that comes our way and suits our fancy. Originally started by Beth Bryant and Julie Rawosn, COS is solely directed by Julie now with regular guest directing appearances by Don Boothman of Hardwick. For more information: call Julie at (978) 355-2853 or email: Julie@mhof.net. We are always welcoming new members.
Selections for tonight are
Thina: a South African play song
A Celtic Blessing: a jazz version of the old favorite
Deep River: a popular spiritual
Jamaican Marketplace: a reggae song
